You would get a better education going to college or doing your own research in the civilian sector. ![]() The army dropped the NSA's training, but the training they replaced it with is incomplete, far easier and far less effective. The course is terribly designed and incomplete. Unless this has gotten better recently, prepare to be treated as if you are in low security prison for at least a year. There is not enough space in the barracks for 17 series MOSs, so you will likely lose any priveleges you have gained by being moved to Signal barracks. Are you tossing in basic training in this number? Also why would you get treated as permanent party? You have phases for your AIT like everyone else. Where did you get the two year number from? Your AIT is at most a year long unless you recycle. Your AIT often approaches nearly two years long, and you are at no point treated anywhere approximating permanent party status. You should always take what they say with a grain of salt. Most recruiters know a little about every MOS and they are salesmen at the end of the day. The content covered is difficult and you have to have good study habits in order to pass. What a recruiter means to say and what they are told is the pacing of the course is like college. Your recruiter will tell you the AIT environment is like college. So I read this post the other day and here is a break down of why the poster is just wrong or misleading about information.
